Robbie Grabarz aiming for second Olympic medal

Saturday, August 13 2016 by SNTV
  • London Olympics bronze medal-winning high jumper Robbie Grabarz looked ahead on Friday (12th August) to competing in the Rio Games.

Team GB high jumper Robbie Grabarz spoke on Friday (12th August) ahead of the start of his event in two days’ time.

Grabarz won bronze at London 2012, and still has fond memories of the occasion.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Robbie Grabarz (on winning a bronze medal in London in 2012):

"It was just incredible to be honest. To experience that many people cheering for me and being a Brit and that, that stadium was just unbelievable."

This season Grabarz has won silver medals at the European Championships and the World Indoor Championships.

He's hoping to be among the medals once again in Rio.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Robbie Grabarz (on what winning a second Olympic medal would mean to him):

"It would just be out of this world. This, the second time round I feel like I'm really earning stuff that's coming to me rather than the first time, just flying by the seat of my pants so I'm taking it as it comes."

Look out for Robbie in the Olympic men's high jump on Sunday (14th August).
