Barcelona beat Celtic in Dublin

Sunday, July 31 2016 by SNTV
  • Barcelona defeat Celtic 3-1 in the International Champions Cup on Saturday (29th July) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Republic of Ireland - first-half goals from Arda Turan, an own goal from Efe Ambrose and Munir El Haddadi sealed victory for the Catalan giants after Leigh Griffiths had equalised for the Scottish champions.

Messi led Barcelona out to a packed house at Dublin's Aviva Stadium as the catalan giants faced Celtic in the International Champions Cup on Saturday.

Barcelona made the breakthrough as Arda Turan curled a sweet first-time shot into the top corner of the net past Craig Gordon on 11 minutes.

Celtic though got back on level terms after some sloppy defending from Barcelona. Leigh Griffiths took full advantage to make it 1-1 on the half hour mark.

But then, it was Celtic's turn to make mistakes at the back as Efe Ambrose pokes into his own net to give Barcelona the lead once more.

In the second half, Messi began an attack which was only ever going to result in a third goal for the Spanish champions. Munir El Haddadi makes it three after the pull back from Luis Suarez

Celtic had one more chance but Barcelona won the game three goals to one and they will now face Leicester City in Stockholm on Wednesday.
