Anderlecht came from behind to beat Royal Excel Mouscron 2-1 in their first fixture of the new Belgian Pro League season (Belgian First Division A) on Saturday (30th July).
There's no feeling like the return of football after the long off season break- even if the final of Euro 2016 was just three weeks ago.
Anderlecht and Royal Excel Mouscron fans could enjoy the start of the Belgian Pro League.
Anderlecht dominated the first 25 minutes with more than one chance falling to Alexandru Chipciu, who signed from Steaua Bucharest two weeks ago.
Goalkeeper Vagner equal to this effort.
But the opening goal went Mouscron's way. A thunderbolt from Filip Markovic in the 26th minute, 'keeper, what a goal to start the new season.
The 24-year-old Markovic scored only three goals for Mouscron last season as they finished one point away from relegation.
Since then the club has changed its name and its strip, and brought in a new coach.
But the second half went much more the way of Anderlecht, as their class began to show.
Sofiane Hanni, used his pace in the 62nd minute and fired past Vagner. 1-1.
And the killer blow came just three minutes later.
Substitute Idryss Sylla was left unmarked to poke in the cross from Hanni.
That's how it finished. Just the start Anderlecht had hoped for.
