IOC president Thomas Bach arrived at the Olympic Village in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday (28th July).

"I like it very much, because in the Olympic Village is where the heart of the Olympic Games is beating. I think you can ask anybody who ever lived in an Olympic village wants to come back. And I'm happy to be back."

"You have the athletes who are focusing on competition, you have athletes who have finished already the competition, they're making friends, you're sharing meals with them. Here in this Village the whole world is together. You can see that the world in fact is a village."

"I have to start every day very early in the morning with meetings and since I'm not an early bird, then I would not be able to stay here all the time but I will try at least a couple of days to spend time here and to enjoy the time with the athletes. "
