Neymar Jr. lost his temper with a reporter when asked about his commitment to Brazil's team during a news conference on Tuesday (July 26th) at the host nation's Olympic football headquarters in Teresopolis - the squad for Rio 2016 will now face Japan in a friendly on Saturday (30th July) in Goiania, central Brazil.
SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Neymar Jr. (On his level of commitment to the Brazil team):
"(Laughs) Look, I think you should see more the things I do inside the pitch. The private things, from the moment I am away, no matter what I am doing, it's private. These are things that I do....(raises voice) I am talking to you! Can you look at me, please? Thank you! If you ask me things (smiles), let's do it eye-to-eye. Let's have a friendly mood (smiles)! Don't get mad at me, okay? No matter what happens, you must demand me on things I do in the pitch. When you talk about red cards I receive, no problem. Now, I have my private life. I am a 24-year old man. Perhaps young. I have my accomplishments and I am very relaxed about this. One can criticise me, I have mistakes. I'm not a perfect guy. But I also like to go out, have fun with friends… I have family, I have friends too, so why can't I go out? Why can't I go to a nightclub? There's no reason why I can't go. I can and I will, no matter what happens. I'm aware of my responsibilities on the following day. I will go out, and I don't see any problem with that. That's my private life. In the pitch, ok. From the moment I am on the pitch, I always give 100 percent. I always try to do my best. I make mistakes. And I have made many mistakes before. And I will make mistakes, it's a normal thing of a human being."
