"Important but for us more important is time to train. Together we now have all our English players today with us. Tomorrow the Belgian players will join us. Step by step we bring the whole group together. So we're still about three weeks until the season starts, a very important three weeks. We already had three weeks together with another group. It's a challenge in football to bring them all together and bring them to the starting line. It's what we try. My first impression is great. A few weeks ago I made holiday around here. I knew it was a nice place. Now, first time at Stanford. Seems to be really good. It's a big name, even in Europe. We're really looking forward to it and hopefully we can use it properly."

"Loris Karius is a German goalkeeper. Actually he was number three goalkeeper in the rankings last year in Germany. He played in my former, former club (Mainz) so I knew him of course. He's a big talent and a nice lad. He played in his youth in England already (at Manchester City) so he's experienced in this kind of football. So he'll be a very good fit. Same is true with two German centre halves who played in Germany. I know them for a long time, so it was quite easy to scout them. I played a lot of times against them so they will help us for sure.

Marko Grujic, young lad from Serbia. Really, really big talent but still young, 19 years old. A lot of things to learn, but already he's showed in the first few games and sessions. Last but not least Sadio Mane. Wonderful player. Very, very fast quick player. Outstanding one-on-one skills. Everybody who watched our games until now could see he's a player we didn't have before. So it really could work, but it's early. We still have to work and see what happens."
