  • Manchester United on Thursday (21st July) prepared to face Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup with manager Jose Mourinho commenting on his squad and the vacant England manager's position.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Manchester United Manager:(on Paul Pogba)

"I don't confirm and I don't deny. I can not tell you. First of all, because I don't think it's correct to speak about players of other clubs. He is a Juventus player and he is not a Man(chester) United player. The only thing I can say is that my board, my directors they did fantastic work. They did 75 per cent of the job I asked them to do. I asked them (for) four players. To be more accurate, I asked them for four profiles of players I need and I gave a few options. They did for me 75 per cent of the job with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, (Henrikh) Mkhitaryan and (Eric) Bailly. And we have just 25 per cent to do until the 31st of August. So we are in great condition to have what I would consider a good market for us. So we are calm. We know the profile of the player we want. We have three faces to fill that profile. I am really confident that Mr Woodward (executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward) and the owners will bring me the profile of the player that I think the squad needs to have a good balance."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Manchester United Manager:(On Sam Allardyce as the new England manager)

"It's your country (England) and I think you are a complicated country for the person that gets the job. I think he's the right person for that, yes. I think he's a good choice but I think he needs support and I think you can do better in respect to that. Because my experience in your country shows me that in the football world you could do a bit better. I think Sam (Allardyce) never had the big chance at the highest level. Lots of experiences in the Premier League but never that big one and now he has the big one. So I think he's more than ready. I think he's a good motivator, I think he can create a good team spirit with his players and I wish him the best from my side, not just as a friend, but my side as the Manchester United manager."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jose Mourinho, Manchester United Manager:(on Zlatan Ibrahimovic)

"There are not two players the same. So my decision with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) has consequence of many hours of study, of analysis and discussion with my staff. And despite of he was out of the Euros one match before the English guys, everything is different. The body is different, the mind is different, the personality, time he needs to adapt, time he needs to have holidays, even things that you probably don't know but you don't have to know, which is to prepare in a different way."
