Bach: IOC to retest and reanalyse all Russian samples from Sochi

  • International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said the findings of the WADA report into alleged Russian doping means the IOC will "take all the measures and the toughest sanctions against this behaviour."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Thomas Bach, IOC President: (Q. What immediate actions have the IOC Executive Board decided to take?)

    "The IOC has today started disciplinary action against all persons and organisations being implicated in the McLaren report. The IOC will not grant any kind of accreditation to any of the persons involved and implicated in the report, in particular with regards to the Ministry of Sport in Russia. The IOC will retest and reanalyse all the tests, all the samples of Russian athletes with regard to the Olympic Winter Games 2014, and then take the necessary actions that means disqualifying these athletes, sanctioning them, reallocating the medals."
