  • London Marathon organisers revealed on Tuesday (19th July) that the British High Court has ordered Russian runner Liliya Shobukhova to repay her prizemoney from the 2010 and 2011 races after she was banned for doping.

The High Court judgment mandates Russian runner Liliya Shobukhova to repay £377,961 pounds and 62 pence plus costs relating to her 2010 marathon victory and second-place finish the following year in the British capital.

Shobukhova was stripped of her 2009-2011 results for blood doping.

One of the rules of the World Marathon Majors series is that any athlete found guilty of a doping offence is required to repay all prize and appearance money.
