  • Nico Prost said Lucas di Grassi "lost his mind" which caused a first corner crash with Sebastien Buemi in the London ePrix on Sunday (3rd July), but Buemi managed to set the fastest lap in his second car and the two point bonus handed him the Formula E title.

There was major controversy in the final race of the Formula E season at Battersea Park in London on Sunday (3rd July).

Lucas di Grassi and Sebastien Buemi were both vying for the drivers title, level on points going into the race.

But, the two tangled shortly after the start when Di Grassi went into the back of Buemi. di Grassi blamed his Renault e.dams opponent.

There was shock in the garages.

If both drivers had failed to garner any points Di Grassi would have won the title on a countback, but Buemi wasn't finished just yet.

The drama was enough to worry Alain Prost, co-owner of the Renault e.dams team as he looked for his team to be crowned constructor's champions for a second consectutive year.

Usuing his second car, Buemi set the fastest lap and picked up two bonus points, which duly handed him the drivers crown.

With plenty of on-track action during the final race of the weekend, the race result hardly seemed to matter among the drama, but for the record it was Buemi's team-mate Nico Prost who won it for Renault e.dams making Alian Prost a very happy man.
