Giant-Alpecin have good team atmosphere - Dumoulin

Wednesday, June 29 2016 by SNTV
  • German team Giant-Alpecin presented on Wednesday the riders that will participate in the 103rd edition of the Tour de France.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Dumoulin, Giant-Alpecin all-rounder:

"We have almost the same team than we had last year here during the Tour de France. Only Georg (Preidler) and Koen de Kort switched places. And I think the atmosphere is good. We've known each other already for years. Same team already for years together. That is going to be a good thing."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Dumoulin, Giant-Alpecin all-rounder:

"I am going into this Tour with a little bit of free role. So I will look for day opportunities. For day stages. Also days that I will help the team. Help Warren (Barguil) in the mountains. That is actually my role. And also in the back of my mind Rio de Janeiro which is after the Tour. So that will be my targets here."

SOUNDBITE: (English) John Degenkolb, Giant-Alpecin sprinter:

(about his recovery after January's accident):

"I am good, recovered, you could say. It was a really long way. It was hard work with a lot of dedication and sacrifice to come again in shape. It was the longest break in my whole career. It has also a big impact on your body so it takes a lot of time. I am happy to make first the selection for the Tour and also I think my shape is pretty okay. And I hope I can fight for stages during the Tour."
