  • SNTV takes a look at the Olympic velodrome in Rio.

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese): Eduardo Paes, Rio de Janeiro Mayor:

"It was a few years of distrust with regard to our country's and our city's ability to deliver the Olympic installations but as we hand out the last key (venue) I would like to make it clear - especially to the foreign press that has every reason to have a certain mistrust about our country - that we are doing, when it comes to the Olympic installations the cheapest Olympic games in history and mostly with private funding."

SOUNDBITE (English): Christophe Dubi, IOC's Olympic Games Executive Director:

"What is amazing is the resilience of these people here because they faced a lot of hardship as I said in the speech here and they have overcome one after the other and including here for the velodrome, it was a massive, massive last minute effort."

SOUNDBITE (English): Gael Suter, Swiss Olympic rider:

"The track is great. I think it's going to be fast, it's not over yet but working is progressing well and I think there will be some great races in August."
