MotoGP: Miller claims dramatic maiden race win

Monday, June 27 2016 by SNTV
  • There was a shock MotoGP win for Australia's Jack Miller at a weather-affected Dutch TT in Assen on Sunday (26th June).

The Assen MotoGP was a wet and wild affair with torrential rain forcing the riders off the track after 14 laps.

The restarted race was cut to 12 laps, but the watching fans weren't left short-changed as riders dramatically dropped like flies.

Leaders Danilo Petrucci, Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi all crashed out in the tricky conditions.

This left the door open for Jack Miller, who overtook world championship leader Marc Marquez with nine laps to go.

The Australian held off Marquez to claim his maiden MotoGP race win. Miller could hardly believe his achievement.

    What a day at Assen.
