  • Serena Williams spoke on Sunday (26th June) ahead of the start of her title defence at SW19.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Serena Williams (on feeling pressure):

"Yes honestly I don't feel any pressure. I feel good and confident."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Serena Williams (on what she enjoys specifically about Wimbledon):

"I enjoy just, it just being on grass. It's usually the only tournament that I play on grass and it's just a unique experience. It's that one time of the year when you get to get on this amazing, beautiful surface and it feels really good."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Serena Williams (on learning from losing the Australian and French Open finals this year):

"Well I think it's important to learn from every loss that you have and I think, in particular, I usually do. Throughout my whole career I have been able to learn a lot and to come off and to come back a much better player."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Serena Williams (on being ready to get out on court):

"Yes. I am definitely ready to start playing at this point. I'm kind of over practising every day for two hours and then going to the gym for some time so I'm definitely ready to get started."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Serena Williams (on having won four straight Grand Slams):

"Yes it was a great accomplishment to win four Grand Slams in a row, twice in my career so it's pretty cool. It was really awesome."
