  • Australia captain Steve Smith spoke on Saturday ahead of the Tri-Series final against the West Indies due to be held on Sunday.

"I think we have not played our best cricket so far in the series, having said that all you want to do is make it into the final and then from there you want to play your best stuff. We have not had a polished performance yet and hope to have that tomorrow. We have been inconsistent in how we started with the ball - that has been the case for some time now - I thought we started very well last game and it was the middle orders where we let ourselves down so it will be nice to have a polished performance with the ball and with the bat, then probably the top four - one of them - to get a big one, and everybody else to bat around the person whose day it is and if we do that we can hopefully have some success."

"I think the surface in Barbados has a bit of extra bounce so you can hit it at the top of the bounce so that has been the easiest wicket to play spin on in the last ones we have played spin on so there is no doubt he is a dangerous bowler (Sunil Narine), he has got some skills, and post a big total with the bat."

"That is my goal for the team, to win every series that we play in. But come another final I think Australians step up, and hopefully we can do that tomorrow and win another series against the West Indies and South Africa. They are both very good one day sides in these conditions, especially the West Indies who have been up for the fight in these conditions and South Africa are a quality team so it will be nice to win the series tomorrow."
