  • The West Indies beat South Africa by 100 runs on Friday in the Ballr Cup Tri-Nations ODI Series, with Darren Bravo hitting 102 to inspire the win

The West Indies were put in to bat first in their tri-nations series clash with South Africa on Friday (24th June).

A chance to play Australia in the final of the competition was the prize on offer, but West Indies got off to an awful start as early wickets tumbled.

First Andre Fletcher went, closely followed by Johnson Charles and Marlon Samuels who went for a golden duck.

This left the West Indies on 12-3 and struggling badly.

Thankfully Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard were in no mood to follow the rest of their teammates and set about saving the innings.

Steadily building a solid 100 run partnership. Pollard fell for 62, but Bravo powered on and made a century to push the Indies on to a respectable target.

Bravo was out just two runs later, but a solid knock from the tail meant his side ended their innings on 285.

South Africa's innings started just as badly as the West Indies' had, however, they were unable to pull out of their slump and this superb catch by Pollard left them at 65-6.

They did battle to 185, however, it wasn't enough as Carlos Brathwaite bowled the decisive ball to give the West Indies a 100 run victory.

They will now face Australia in Sunday's final.
