Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday (18th June) commented on Russia's ban by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
SOUNDBITE (Russian) Vladimir Putin, Russian President:
"If a member of your family commits an offence, should all family members be brought to account, including you personally? It's not done like that anywhere. The responsibility must always be the person who committed the offence, and nobody who is not directly involved with the offence should suffer. Therefore I expect we will speak more to our colleagues from the anti-doping organisation, and I hope to hear a corresponding reaction from the International Olympic Committee."
