Espinosa aiming for third Olympic medal

  • Veteran Mexican diver Paola Espinosa is training hard to achieve her dream of winning a third Olympic medal at Rio this summer.

    Mexico's Paola Espinosa could become one of Mexico's most successful athletes if she wins a medal at this summer's Rio Olympics.

    The diver already has two Olympic medals to her name - a third would out her level with Joaquin Capilla who won medals at three consecutive games.

    Espinosa says she has made a lot of sacrifices as she aims for medal number three.

    SOUNDBITE: (Spanish): Paola Espinosa, Mexican Olympic diver:

    "I want it so much. I believe there is no a sports person in the world who doesn't want to win an Olympic medal. For me, it would be my third Olympic medal. I hope I can achieve it. I have worked hard, and put in a lot of sacrifice to make it. I have a great team behind me, my coaches Ma Jin and Pedro Gato, my doctor, a physiotherapist, and more. So I will use all the tools available to achieve my dream of having a third medal fulfilled."

    The 29 year-old won bronze in Beijing and silver in London. Espinosa be hoping to go a step better in Rio and make this a golden summer.
