  • World champion Sebastien Ogier set the early pace with a shakedown win on Thursday (9th June) ahead of World Rally Championship round in Sardinia.

The latest round of the World Rally Championship saw drivers negotiating their way around the dirt track in northern Sardinia.

The shakedown stage saw Estonian Ott Tannak posting the third quickest time around the Olmedo test.

M-Sport driver Mads Ostberg was second with encouraging signs for the Norwegian.

Ostberg, who is currently third in the championship, finished narrowly behind Sebastien Ogier on the three-kilometre test.

Ogier, who triumphed in Italy last year, was again the fastest out of the blocks.

The world champion was eager to make an impact following three rounds without a victory this season and he did just that finishing 0.01 seconds ahead of Ostberg.

Hyundai pair Thierry Neuville and Hayden Paddon completed the top five.
