Sri Lanka train before England test

Wednesday, June 08 2016 by SNTV
  • Sri Lanka trained at Lord's on Tuesday (7th June), two days ahead of the start of the third and final Test against England.

After a complete drubbing in the opener at a wet and blustery Headingley - then a resounding, though not humiliating, defeat at a chilly Chester-le-Street, Sri Lanka might be allowed to view the prospect of the third Test with something approaching optimism.

The tourists have been improving - and London conditions should be much more to the liking of Graham Ford's men.

The team trained today ahead of the third and final test match of this series on Thursday, and It has been hot and humid- by English standards - in the capital in recent days, resulting in the odd thunderstorm.

Furthermore, this is a side in transition, following the loss of some modern-day greats.

And with England notoriously poor at closing out a 'whitewash', Sri Lanka will be seeking to rise to the occasion at the home of cricket.
