Rain ends Monday's French Open

Tuesday, May 31 2016 by SNTV
  • Heavy rain led to the cancellation of all matches at the French Open on Monday (30th May) - the first wash-out at Roland Garros in 16 years.

Monday's play has been called off at the French Open due to rainy conditions, 16 years to the day since the last time this event occurred.

The tournament has been lighted by poor weather, with no improvements in conditions forecast for the coming days.

Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams had both been due to play on Monday, however, they will now have to wait for a respite in the rain.
