  • Reaction from Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday (28th May) following a 1-0 win for Hull in the Championship playoff final that secured promotion to the English Premier League.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Huddlestone, Hull City midfielder (on Hull's big game experience):

"It comes to this game and it’s a one off where anything can happen. I thought we showed our experience. Shown that a few of us have played in big games before and we managed to get over the line."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Huddlestone, Hull City midfielder (on Diame's winning goal):

"We know Mo is a big game player and thankfully he's produced in the big game again. I was right behind it and as soon as he hit it I fancied it to go in even if the goalie got a hand to it. Credit to their goalie, I thought he was man-of-the-match. He's kept them in it with three or four saves in the first half but it's impossible to save Mo's shot."

SOUNDBITE (English) Carlos Carvalhal, Sheffield Wednesday manager (on the game):

"In the final we played against a strong team that we played before two times. In those games the games were balanced and today I think Hull City was better than us during the ninety minutes. They deserved to win and I just want to say that we were proud about our fans about our players because we lived fantastic moments. The moments that we lived was something that we created. Nobody gave us absolutely nothing."
