Roy Hodgson speaks following England victory

"Fantastic. I was asked before the game if I was nervous for him or if I thought he would freeze or find it difficult to step up and I said 'I didn't think so' and that was why we chose him in the first place. It was a bold move I suppose to choose an 18-year-old for his debut after such a short period of time in the Manchester Untied team, but what a debut, what a great goal and another headache for us going forward. We have to finalise 23 players from 26."

"It was a tough game. A really stern test, I was obviously pleased with certain aspects of our play. We're dangerous on the break. I'm also pleased so many players who didn't start the game against Turkey were able to show what they can do and we were able to come away with the victory."
