New-look England prepare for Wales clash

  • England trained at their base in Surrey on Friday (27th May) ahead of their international against Wales at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday (29th May).

England's rugby players trained at their Pennyhill Park hotel base on Friday, ahead of their clash with Wales on Sunday.

Teimana Harrison will make his England debut at Twickenham this weekend, starting at blindside flanker.

The New Zealand-born back rower is one of four debutants in Eddie Jones' 23-man squad.

The other newcomers - front rowers Tommy Taylor and Ellis Genge and back Ollie Devoto - will all start on the bench.

Prop Genge has been called up to the senior side despite making only five appearances for Leicester Tigers.

With his club team-mate Manu Tuilagi injured, Luther Burrell is back in the England starting line-up for the first time since missing out on Stuart Lancaster's World Cup squad.

The English Premiership final between Saracens and Exeter Chiefs takes place on Saturday, so Jones will be without several members of his Six Nations Grand Slam-winning side.

That number includes Saracens' Billy Vunipola, whose place at the back of the scrum will go to Jack Clifford.

Jones is also unable to call on Exeter winger Jack Nowell, so Marland Yarde will be offered a chance to stake his claim for a place in England's squad for the summer tour to Australia.

England will play three Tests against the Wallabies in June, stopping in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
