  • Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Wednesday (25th May) that he is "excited" to be the Bundesliga champions and aims to go beyond the semi-finals of the Champions League which the club have lost in for the past three seasons.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on his ambitions at Bayern):

"I think I didn't speak yet with the club about this but I think the goal of the club is to stay competitive in all competitions as long as possible. There is the (Champions League) semi-final and it's a good result, the semi-final of the Champions League. The season of Bayern was really good this year and I hope, I try, I will try to do better but it will not be easy."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on the possibility of losing some Bayern Munich players to Manchester City, led by former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola):

"No, I think that the situation is clear. A lot of players (at Bayern) renew their contracts, they are happy to stay there because Bayern is a fantastic club, Munich is a fantastic city so I think there is no problem in this sense."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on Bayern Munich):

"I would like, as I said, to stay but really I don't know how long I will stay. If I do a good job I can stay more here, if the club is not happy they have the possibility and the right to change. But I am excited to start this new challenge, new country, new language, new players, and new club and so it's a good motivation for me."
