  • Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Wednesday (25th May) that he believes Louis van Gaal did a 'good job' at Manchester United, as well as discussing Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on a manager's career span at a club):

"When I signed for Real Madrid, I didn't know how long I was going to stay at Real Madrid when I signed. Maybe one year, six months, two years so.... I think this is in the mentality and the thought of every manager, this thought. (Louis) Van Gaal knew it was going to happen and I think he did a good job (in the) second year he won the FA Cup and after that I think he can leave without (a) problem."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on his former Real Madrid colleague Zinedine Zidane after his success in reaching the Champions League final):

"I think it doesn't surprise me because Zidane has a fantastic personality, great charisma in front of the players, the players love to train with Zidane. I was not surprised."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Carlo Ancelotti, Bayern Munich coach (on his fellow Italian Antonio Conte's new manager's job at Chelsea):

"I know Conte very well, Conte's a fantastic manager, he's really focused on his job. He's really focused on the little details, he's a hard worker and I think that Chelsea had a good choice and at the end I think that Conte will have support from the club and a good relationship with the owner (Roman Abramovich)."
