Luiten & Yang share lead at Wentworth Day 1

  • Australia's Scott Hend, South Korean Y E Yang and Dutchman Joost Luiten shared the lead after the first day of the PGA Championship at Wentworth Club on Thursday (26th May).

    The European Tour's flagship event once against returned to Wentworth.

    Victor Dubuisson hit a long-iron on his second shot into the Par 5 12th, he'd go on to eagle that - and sit at -3under for his first round.

    Luke Donald has won twice previously on the West course at Wentworth, he went close to an ace at the 10th. The former World No.1 sitting tied for fourth at 4-under.

    Danny Willett is the bookies favourite for the PGA Championship - and the Masters Champion rolled in a big one at 10 as he carded for a 6-under 66 and sits outright fourth overnight.

    One of those he'll he chasing is Y E Yang, the man who still holds the record of being the only player to chase down Tiger in the final round of a Major.

    Alongside Yang at 7-under is Joost Luiten, the Dutchman comes in red hot after eight top 15 finishes in 11 tournaments this year.
