We are currently assessing the need for a larger involvement of our security forces."

SOUNDBITE (French) Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister:

"50 motorcyclists from the Garde Republicaine will continue this year to escort the Tour de France, whilst 12 police officers will accompany the cyclists for the whole duration of the race.
