  • Eintracht Frankfurt remain a Bundesliga side after clinching a narrow 1-0 win over Nurnberg in the second leg of their German relegation play-off match on Monday (May 23rd), giving them a 2-1 win on aggregate.

Eintracht Frankfurt travelled Nurnberg on Monday evening for the second leg of their relegation play-off encounter.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, it was a nervy affair for both sides with neither playing particularly adventurous football.

The best chance of the first half fell to Gacinovic, after the Nurnberg goalkeeper spilled an innocuous Seferovic effort just before half time.

The only goal of the game came after the restart and it was Frankfurt who found it.

Gacinovic with an excellent run down the wing, found Seferovic in the box, he merely needed to guide the ball into the back of the net.

A vital goal for Frankfurt who did just enough to secure their place in the top flight next season, sparking wild celebrations among the players at the final whistle.
