Willett in a 'good position'

  • Reaction from the second round of the Irish Open at The K Club, Co. Kildare, Ireland

SOUNDBITE: (English) Danny Willett, joint leader 8 under par:

"Not too bad. Pretty steady, a little bit scrappy at times but you know the golf course is tricky, you get a lot of the cross-winds. Obviously in the morning the ball's not going as far, the rough's a little bit juicier so you know....a key on hitting the fairways and if you don't you find yourself out of position and you're going to have to get up and down for pars. So, yeah I dropped a couple of silly shots out there but not too bad you know, 8 under par you're tied leader...whether or not it's going to be that at the end of the day I don't know but....in a pretty good position heading into the weekend."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, 7 under par:

"I'm excited to be here for the weekend and obviously have a chance to win the golf tournament going into the weekend as well. Today maybe wasn't quite as good as it was yesterday but I felt like I still played a decent round of golf. I think anything under par in those conditions this morning was OK. So yeah, excited with two days to go."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Marc Warren, joint leader, 8 under par:

"Very pleased, I think the golf course is tough anyway, but given the conditions ever more so. So really pleased to get round...I'd have taken anything round about the 70 mark this morning but it was nice to get on, the greens were absolutely pure this morning so delighted to take advantage of that."
