  • Early highlights from the first round of the Kingsmill Championship Presented by JTBC in Williamsburg, Virginia on Thursday (19 May 2016).

Laetita Beck shot a tidy round of 67, here chipping in at 15. And sitting at 4-under in fourth spot after the first round.

American and World No.4 Stacy Lewis was a big hope going into the tournament.

She played a solid round for 1-under par, and was ever so close to an ace at the 13th.

Last year's winner Minjee Lee, at the age of just 19, played some remarkably consistent golf, not dropping a shot until 18. She sits at 5-under tied for second.

Mika Miyazato had five birdies in a six-hole stretch and finished with a 6-under 65 on Thursday to take the first-round lead in the Kingsmill Championship.

In tricky conditions on the rain-soaked River Course, the 26-year-old Japanese player closed her opening nine with the birdie run.

Miyazato will take a one shot lead into Friday's play.
