  • US Masters champion Danny Willett, defending champion Soren Kjeldsen and tournament sponsor Rory McIlroy look ahead to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation at the K Club in Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland

SOUNDBITE: (English) Danny Willett, US Masters champion:

"Oh, (laughs) it's just got a lot busier. Obviously, life was going to get busier with the little man (his newborn son) coming along, so yeah it was supposed to be a steady four weeks off and kind of get some rest and so I could kind of get prepped for the rest of the season, it's obviously turned into a little bit of a circus, with everything that's going on, but all good things... you don't quite realise what you've achieved until you get home with the British press, the British media and stuff, but... and obviously you've got to take the time to do all of that and just kind of scale it into your normal, day-to-day things nowadays. So yeah, things have got a little bit busier, but like I said, you can't really complain."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, world number three:

"Yeah, you know, it's the second year we've been involved now in the Irish Open. I fell that last year it went quite well, I feel like we've learned from it. We know where we could improve, but you know, the prize fund's gone up again and we're just trying to make it more of a bigger event on Tour, basically. the European Tour have been great, backed up by Duty Free, who have come on board and everyone seems to have got behind it, so it's been really good and obviously with the Foundation factor as well and raising a lot of money for charity this week... it's great to be a part of, it's great to be involved and just trying to bring the Irish Open back to what it once was in the seventies and eighties."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, world number three:

"Yeah, you know, the K Club... I'm not familiar with it that much. Obviously there are guys who have played Ryder Cup here, played the European Open here through the years, this is going to be my first score around it, at least competitively, so I'm looking forward to it, it's a great golf course. It's in great shape, they have really got it in good shape this week, so it's shaping up to be a good week."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Shane Lowry, Irish Open champion 2009:

"Yeah, it's good. I only live about half an hour from here, so I've played here quite a bit. Great golf course, good test of golf and it's great that it's that close to Dublin, so you know, hopefully the crowds will come out this week and hopefully the weather stays ok and it'll be a good week."
