Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao cast his vote on Monday (9th May) as he tries to win a seat in the Philippines senate.

Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao continued his bid to win a seat in his country's senate as he headed to the polls.

Pacquiao cast his vote in his hometown of Saranggani, General Santos City in the southern Philippines on Monday.

The former boxer is currently a congressman in the Philippines legislature, however, he has faced criticism that his prioritised boxing over his political role.

Pacquiao has promised that he will be full-time Philippines senator if elected, despite speculation he could step back into the ring.

Pacquiao is a strong favourite to 'knockout' his opposition, and win a seat in the country's senate.
