Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce said on Thursday (5th May) that he was hoping for a "shock result" against Chelsea on Saturday (7th May), as his relegation-threatened side continue their battle for English Premier League survival.

"Massive week, we are all aware of the huge responsibility that we have to try and achieve more points than Newcastle and Norwich (also threatened with relegation). Three games to do it in and no real margin for error. It starts with Chelsea in the hope we can hit our top form and make sure we try and win the game if we can, because if we don't and either Norwich or Newcastle win, the pressure increases dramatically. You always wonder if your players will hold up under that pressure. A big, big game for all three clubs come the weekend."
