Manchester City held a news conference on Tuesday (3rd May) ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid.

SOUNDBITE (English) Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City manager: (asked if the general opinion that Real Madrid are superior affects the team and if we can expect a surprise):

"I think our motivation must not be linked to that. I think our motivation must be to try to reach a final. We never did it before, to play against a great team as Real Madrid in a beautiful stadium. I think those kind of things, for me at least, motivate more than speculation about who is the best team or who will reach the final. I think that everyone must trust their team. We trust ours a lot and I hope we can demonstrate it tomorrow in the 90 minutes."

"Cristiano (Ronaldo) will always be a different player. He scores a lot of goals. You must see the amount of goals that he has scored in the six years he's been playing here in Madrid. But I don't think that Real Madrid is just Cristiano. If he doesn't play they have other different options. The most important thing is to have our mind thinking that we must work as a team in defending and attacking, not against Cristiano, This is against Real Madrid."
