  • Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink spoke to title winning boss Claudio Ranieri after the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur handed the English Premier League title to Leicester City on Monday (2nd May).

SOUNDBITE (English) Gus Hiddink, Interim Chelsea manager:  (On speaking to Claudio Ranieri)

"I didn't see any tears because it was not a FaceTime conversation. But his voice was trembling a bit. (Q. What did he say?) Thanks. Not much. Five times thanks because the emotion is going up and that's it."

SOUNDBITE (English) Gus Hiddink, Interim Chelsea manager:

"For them there was a lot at stake and for us there was prestige at stake. And, of course, there is also this rivalry between the two London clubs which makes it very hot. There was a lot at stake for them as well. Before I give a judgement, I must look very calmly at the video. It is difficult to say on their behaviour. We were also tight and this is an emotional game between two big clubs."

SOUNDBITE (English) Gus Hiddink, Interim Chelsea manager:

"I didn't talk about this with (Diego Costa), but there were some scratches left in his neck. But let's not go... we are not the most beautiful boys either. Yeah. Let's be honest - it was just a fight. And, of course, there is frustration (for what is) at stake - losing the championship. It's difficult to get this frustration. When you have a draw at the end then you can forgive."
