-
Reaction after Newcastle's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on Saturday.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rafa Benitez, Newcastle interim manager:
"It could be important for us, I am sure important for the fans and everyone can see the table but we still have to keep going. We have to approach the game against Aston Villa as another final and that's it, we cannot look at the table too much we just have to make sure for the next game we will be ready."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rafa Benitez, Newcastle interim manager:
"For us it's really important, we won against Swansea, we had two difficult games against City (Manchester) and Liverpool and we did well and now these three points - the players now have more confidence, they are working hard and working for each other. This is the key. The fans understand that supporting the team, getting behind them, this is the key. We have an away game that we have to do well in and a home game that hopefully the fans can make the difference again."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rafa Benitez, Newcastle interim manager (on goalkeeper Karl Darlow):
"I think that you can always say that when a 'keeper saves a penalty he is a hero, but you can also say the same about Andros (Townsend). I think he did really well, I am really pleased for him and hopefully he doesn't have to save any more penalties - that would be fine."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Keith Millen, Crystal Palace assistant manager:
"It was small margins today. It was a great free-kick they have scored. We get the penalty, the 'keeper saves it, so we are disappointed as for the majority of the game we were pretty comfortable."
