Saturday, April 30 2016 by SNTV
  • Michel Platini said on Friday (29th April) that he thought he would be UEFA president again in June after his appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne against his six-year FIFA ban.

SOUNDBITE: (French) Michel Platini, former UEFA president:

"Well, listen, I simply said that, it's just like being in front of the goal. I try to be precise, clear and concise. I worked, I did an invoice, I followed the FIFA directives, I received the money I paid the taxes. Here it is. Anyhow, they spoke for eight hours about many things, of all the details, the conflict of interest. On my side I tried to be concrete."

Q - Do you have the feeling to have convinced them ?

    "I don't know… I don't know… I really don't know"

SOUNDBITE: (French) Michel Platini, former UEFA president:

Q - Isn't it a bit abnormal you received the two million (Swiss Francs) so late ?

"Well we are not going to do the trial tonight here, right?"

Q - With hindsight, do you have any regrets or feel you have made a mistake?

"No, I haven't done anything. I haven't made any mistakes."

SOUNDBITE: (French) Michel Platini, former UEFA president:

"Once again, there is a invoice sent to the FIFA. I'm clear on everything, I don't have any concerns. Now, the ones on the other side think this is not clear and that there are concerns. So the judges will decide about the veracity of the facts, of what I said and what the other said."
