Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce spoke on Thursday (28th April) about his team having to beat Stoke on Saturday (30th April) to keep the pressure on Norwich and Newcastle
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sam Allardyce, Sunderland manager (on Stoke):
"We've got to try to win at Stoke. Everyone thinks Stoke is going to be easy. I think it's going to be really hard because I know Mark Hughes is going to be very upset about his players in the last four games, about the way they've approached the game, about the attitude in terms of the result and how many goals they conceded. I know he'll be trying his very best to get his team out there to win on Saturday (30th April). We'll need to be on top form again and try to be as clinical as we were at Norwich to achieve three points. That's what we have to do. We have to go...not quite all out but must take risks to win the game because I think we need to win it based on the other fixtures that are coming up."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sam Allardyce, Sunderland manager (on who has the toughest end of season games between Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle):
"Us. We've had Arsenal and we've got Stoke. We've had a good season, then Chelsea, Everton and then Watford. We've got a tough run in. The way we're playing at the moment I think we can achieve results against anybody. I think Newcastle, if I was a betting man, I would bet Newcastle would beat Crystal Palace. I can't bet though. I think Newcastle will beat Crystal Palace at the weekend so we have to beat Stoke if we can."
