Tuesday, April 26 2016 by SNTV
  • Soomin Lee claimed his first European Tour title as the weather-affected Shenzhen International finally concluded on Monday (25 April) at Genzon Golf Club.

Once again the weather caused delays on the final day of the Shenzhen Open on Monday (25th April).

After the fog had cleared all eyes fell on the leader Soomin Lee, who continued to show his class.

The South Korean birdied the 16th before sinking an eagle on the 17th to pull away from the chasing pack.

Brandon Stone was the first to make his move as he birdied the 15th to join the frontrunners on 14 under.

However, it was Joost Luiten who ran Lee closest as he birdied the 18th to leave himself 14 under also - keeping up the pressure on the leader.

Lee watched his rival’s fall away meaning a bogey on the last was enough to seal victory.

    His first European Tour title.
