Lee on top in the Shenzhen International

Sunday, April 24 2016 by SNTV
  • South Korea's Soomin Lee leads the weather-affected Shenzhen International tournament by two shots over England's Callum Shinkwin on Saturday (23rd April), with the third round still to be completed.

With thunderstorms reeking havoc, it was a hectic day at the Shenzhen International on Saturday.

Round two was completed, but the delays mean that the third round will spill over to Sunday.

Shot of the day went to Scott Hend, who became the second man on this year's European tour to score a rare albatross.

Bubba Watson had a less spectacular day which he ended tied in 32nd place at four under par.

Things went much better for tour rookie Callum Shinkwin who managed eight birdies and an eagle as he carded an impressive ten-under-par 62.

However, it was not enough to top the leader bard at the close of play.

That honour went to Soomin Lee who birdied the second to get to 14-under before play was halted.

He will have seven holes of his third round to play on Sunday morning before he attempts to win his first event on the European Tour.
