Samuels on Warne: 'My face is real, his isn't'

  • After his unbeaten 85 helped the West Indies to World T20 glory in Kolkata on Sunday, Marlon Samuels used the post-match media conference to slam Australian legend Shane Warne.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Marlon Samuels, West Indies:

"Having turned my life around in the last five years and dedicating every day that I wake up and giving thanks to God, to my kids, this is what I'm doing for my kids everyday. I come out to play cricket, I play cricket with them in mind. But I played this game specifically, to be honest, and I said it to couple of team-mates, that I played the Test series in Australia and everything, Shane Warne has a problem with me. Don't know what, I have never disrespected him. Seems as if he has a lot inside him that he needs to come out. So I don't appreciate the way that he continues to talk about me, and the things that he keeps doing. I don't know. Maybe because my face is real and his face is not."
