  • At a news conference in Delhi on Friday (25th March), Joe Root said he's ready for England's all-or-nothing match against Sri Lanka at the World Twenty20.

SOUNDBITE (English): Joe Root, England Cricket team member
"We have obviously not performed our best throughout the whole competition yet, which in a way is quite exciting. Because we know that's still to come and really pleasing thing is for me is we are finding ways of winning game of cricket, which is really important in this format of the game. So, as long as we continue to do that... All we can really worry about is making sure we get that win tomorrow and give ourselves the best chance of qualifying."

"You never want to lose wickets. That's something that… but you have always got to look to put score on the board and that's what we tried to do and obviously our approach might have been slightly wrong in the last game and that's what we want to make sure to put right, leading into tomorrow. We got important practice ahead of us now and its about doing all those right things and learning from the mistakes we have made, in case we are on a very similar wicket. We face a similar sort of attack in regards to a lot of spin. So, it's about getting the head around that and then making sure that we are our best and we have got clear plans in place. That can be changed if needs be."
