Inbee Park shot a five-under-par 67 on Thursday afternoon (24 March) for a share of the lead in the LPGA Tour's Kia Classic, the final event before the major ANA Inspiration next week in Rancho Mirage.

The LPGA Tour's Kia Classic teed off on Thursday at the Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, California.

The morning wave was led by Brittany Lang, Ai Miyazato and Jodi Ewart Shadoff.

American Lang setting up for her fifth birdie of the day here at 14.

She would finished tied at the top of the leaderboard on 5-under.

World No.2 Inbee Park joined Lang for a round of 67, the Korean with a bogey free round. A welcome relief for Park who had missed the previous two tournaments with back pains.

Ai Miyazato of Japan and England's Jodie Shadoff were the other two tied for the lead.

The world number three, would lose a shot there and end up with a double bogey seven on the 17th.

She carded a 5-over round to sit tied for 118th after Day 1.
