McIlroy 'played beautiful', says second-placed Scott

  • Adam Scott and Danny Willett bemoan their hard rounds on Saturday (5th March) and marvel at leader Rory McIlroy's play in third round of the WGC Cadillac Championship in Florida, USA.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Rory McIlroy, Leader on 12-under-par:

"I'm pumped up about tomorrow, but obviously pumped up about, going into the meat of the season.

"I've been making the birdies - I just haven't... I've been making too many mistakes. So to only have one bogey yesterday and have no bogies today - you know my last bogey was on the second hole of the second round, so very pleased with that. And my putting feels good as well, which I've been working hard on, so I'm really happy."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Adam Scott, Joint second on nine-under-par:

"It was a grind, but the course played tough today. Rory [McIlroy] played beautiful and shot four-under. He probably feels like he left a few out there, that's how good he played. But, no one else could really get it going either. This course is tough. I'm going to have to make some putts tomorrow. Hopefully today was just my off day."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Danny Willett, Joint fourth on seven-under-par (on his double-bogey at the par-four third hole):

"Yeah, not the best start in the world. A little bit of a scrappy day, but yeah, fought back well. And then just a bit of a shame to drop one on the last, but, you know: seven-under-par, I don't know what position we're in, fourth or fifth. Now, especially going in to tomorrow, there's all to play for."
