Oosthuizen into the lead at Perth International

Sunday, February 28 2016 by SNTV
  • 2010 Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen shot a 5-under 67 on Saturday to take a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the Perth International.

Sunny skies and some great golf in the third round of the Perht International.

It was a day with plenty of low scoring, Alexander Levy with this eagle putt on the 7th. Mardan Mamat with this terrific tee shot.... setting him up for an eagle on the 14th.

The show-stoppers didn't end there... the bunker posing no problem for joint overnight leader Brett Rumford.. and that earnt him an eagle.

Rumford shared the overnight lead with Peter Uihlein - but the American had an awful round. A triple bogey on the 12th summing it up. Not even the TV crew could have predicted that one.

In contrast, Frenchman Romain Wattel had a great day, this birdie putt on the 13th ensuring he shot a blemish-free round of 65.

Oosthuizen was the pick of the round though, and despite back-to back bogeys on the 16th and 17th, he still managed to finish top of the leaderboard.

Uihlein and Wattal are tied for second, three shots behind Oosthuizen.
