Robin Singh is confident hosts India can handle the pressure as T20 World Cup favourites
SOUNDBITE: (English) Robin Singh, Former Indian Cricket Star (on whether hosts India can handle the pressure of being T20 World Cup favourites)
"Pressure is not a problem. I think whenever you play there is pressure. And we have won two World Cups, including the T20 and the 50 over format, right. So in the recent past, not too long ago, so in the past ten years from 2007 to now, we have won two World Cups. I think it's something people are getting used to. Expectations are high, so obviously the pressure is always going to be there to compete at that level and to win. But I think we should be able to handle it pretty well."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Robin Singh, Former Indian Cricket Star (on the winning formula for T20 cricket)
"T20 cricket is the sort of format where you need a combination of experience and young cricketers. If you have only young cricketers like, for example your Sri Lanka who have very few experienced crickters, you see a lot of gaps there. These are the ones who really can't handle the pressure. So with that and that blend, it gives you a really good chance."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Robin Singh, Former Indian Cricket Star (saying India have what it takes to win the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup)
"Yeah, they have a very good chance. I would say probably one of the favourites to win the World Cup. They have the team, the combinations to do it, but more importantly they have the spinners who can take you all the way there."
