Roberto Martinez was left frustrated on Saturday as his Everton side went down 1-0 at home to West Brom in the English Premier League. Martinez took issue with West Bron's delaying tactics.

In football there is that element that sometimes a dominant performance and a good performance doesn't give you a good result and I think that was completely the story of what happened today. We knew exactly what we were going to face - a West Brom side that they will always be well organised, that they will use dead ball situations to take 30 seconds in every action and just get set and work on the dead ball situations. They had one shot on target, they score from one corner. We had 34 attempts, I thought we looked very sharp, very bright. Even with the outstanding organisation that West Brom have defensively, I thought we created many many opportunities. We hit the post, we hit the crossbar."

"It is disappointing because when you pay (for) your ticket and you pay a lot of money and you're spending a lot of money, what you want is two teams that they go eye-to-eye and with your own way of playing and your own way of wanting to win games. You want to play football and you don't want to see the ball out of play that long. But it's not something that I would blame of. I think referees should be a little bit stronger. Foster gets booked, rightly so. If that booking would have been in the first 15 minutes of the game, I think it would have had a bigger effect.
