Brisbane Roar went level on point with Wester Sydney Wanderes after the latest round of A-League matches.
Brisbane Roar hosted bottom side Central Coast Mariners in the A-League on Saturday knowing that a win would put them top of the table - depending on Western Sydney Wanderers' result.
And the hosts immediately set about their business taking the lead in the 20th minute via the head of Jade North from close range.
And the hosts doubled their lead in the 36th minute. Jamie MacLaren messed up his attempted header, but made no mistake with his second effort for his 10th goal of the season.
Brisbane made the points safe in the second half with the pick of the goals from Corona, whose long-range effort left the Mariners keeper rooted to the
spot.
An awful afternoon for the Mariners got worse when Harry Ascroft was sent off for a clumsy foul in the 71st minute.
Henrique Silva comfortably netted the spot kick to round off the 4-0 win.
So all eyes on Western Sydney Wanderers to see if they could re-take top spot from brisbane.
Melbourne Victory were the opponents for Wanderers and the home side drew first blood - with Besart Berisha's header bouncing into the net in the 16th minute.
A 1-0 result looked certain until the 89th minute when Substitute Brendon Santalab scored a beauty to save a point for his side.
The 1-1 draw was enough for West Sydney to regain top spot in the A-League - with Brisbane behind on goal difference only.
