Saturday, February 06 2016 by SNTV
  • Liverpool manager Juegen Klopp on Friday (5th February) literally laughed off claims that injury-prone striker Daniel Sturridge was thinking of leaving the club.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Juergen Klopp, Liverpool manager (on claims that Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool):

"Sorry, can you please start again? Daniel Sturridge said?

Q - No, he's not said. But there's a suggestion in various reports that...

"Why should I think about suggestion...of who? Who suggested?

    Q - That's not for me to...

"Ha, ha, ha (extremely loud laughter from Klopp). So, if somebody - maybe I can say it into the camera - if somebody wants to ask me something about he have heard about Daniel Sturridge then he can ask me but not suggestions I'm not interested in. It's absolutely nothing."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Juergen Klopp, Liverpool manager (on whether Sturridge story was a distraction):

"Sorry but which story? The Daniel story? This is no story. How it can be a story? You cannot create stories and then ask me. If somebody wants to say something at least write your name under it and don't suggest something - that's not too cool. So it's no story. It's absolutely not frustrating, it is not interesting."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager (on facing Sunderland after defeat to Leicester):

"Yeah, Sunderland is maybe, I don't know, better or different than before but we have to be too and that's what should be then at the end make the difference."
